Much
of the countryside surrounding Weymouth has been designated as an 'Area
of Outstanding National Beauty' With it's award winning safe sandy beach
and many traditional attractions it is especially popular with families.
Includes donkey rides and a Punch and Judy show as well as merry go rounds,
trampolines etc etc . Water sports including pedaloes, kite surfing, jet-skiing
and windsurfing are available throughout the summer.
There is also an historic harbour area, a town centre shopping complex,
bowling alley and multiplex cinema. Numerous pubs, clubs and restaurants
are all within easy walking distance of the seafront.

Monkey
World (19mins - 9 miles)
Set
amongst the woodland of Dorset lays 65 acres of sanctuary for over 150 primates.
Monkey World was set up in 1987 by Jim and Alison Cronin to provide abused
Spanish beach chimps with a permanent, stable home. Today Monkey World works
in conjunction with foreign governments from all over the world to stop
the illegal smuggling of apes out of Africa and Asia. At the park visitors
can see more than 150 primates of 15 different species.


Moors Valley Country Park (45mins - 30miles)
750 acre country park with something for everyone. Adventure play trail
and play areas, tree top walkway, narrow gage steam railway, lakes, walking
and cycle paths, cycle hire centre and high wire adventure course. Visitor
Centre, Restaurant and Country shop. Events organised throughout the year.

Bovington Tank Museum (18mins - 7 miles)
The
Tank Museum in Bovington Dorset houses
the world's largest and finest collection
of Armoured Fighting Vehicles
from unique World War 1 tanks to the latest
main battle tank of the British Army - Challenger.
The
Museum has a collection of
almost 300 vehicles from over 26 countries.

The Blue Pool (15 miles - 30 mins)
The pool is famous for the ever changing kaleidoscopic of colours. Sandy paths climb to views of Purbeck Hills and steps down to the waters edge. Teahouse open daily offers delicious lunches and cream teas with freshly baked scones served all day. Some facilities for disabled. Dogs on leads welcome.

The Terracotta Warriors Museum is the only museum outside China exclusively
dedicated to the Terracotta Warriors. The terracotta warriors created worldwide
fascination when discovered in 1974 at Xian, China. Now regarded as the
8th Wonder of the Ancient World, the terracotta warriors guarded the tomb
of the First Emperor of China, Qin Shi Huangdi, who lived over 2200 years
ago.
Situated in the centre of Dorchester and open all year inc Sundays

Explore
the formal Edwardian Garden with a stunning ornamental lake in front of the
18th Century Mansion House. The Animal Park has a collection of miniature
Shetland ponies, donkeys, rabbits and Guinea pigs. Light refreshments are
available, Play area, Shop and plant sales. Special events throughout the
year.

The Country Park is a unique 350 acre site overlooking the magnificent Weymouth
Bay, located to the east of Weymouth and just a fifteen minute walk from
the town centre, Georgian Seafront and Beach.
The Park is a perfect family day out, picnics, walking and enjoying a host of family attractions leisure areas and an RSPB Nature reserve. The main attraction include; Sealife Park, Leisure Ranch, Mini Golf, Miniature Railway, and SK8 Park.
